Short Biography
Dr. Satya Majeti lives in Liberty Township with his wife, Dr. Vimala Majeti, who teaches chemistry at Xavier University. They have been long term residents of the greater Cincinnati area since arriving from Los Angeles in 1970, after obtaining their Ph.D. degrees in chemistry from UCLA under the mentorship of the late Professor Christopher Foote. Dr. Majeti worked for P&G for more than 36 years in the R&D departments and contributed to many of their technologies. He is retired from P&G as Research Fellow and now provides consulting services to chemical, pharmaceutical, and consumer product industries. Both Satya and Vimala engage in philanthropy by establishing endowed scholarships in support of needy students at several universities and they contribute to many local charitable organizations. The Majetis continue to give back to UCLA through the Majeti-Alapati Fellowship for Research in Organic Chemistry. They have two grown-up sons and three grandchildren.
