UCLA undergraduate student Megan Cory (Biochemistry major) was one of seven blood donors who helped to save the life of a young mother who nearly died from massive bleeding after giving birth.

CBSLA and NBC Los Angeles reported on the story of Jennifer Calderon, who was heavily hemorrhaging after the delivery of her son, but was saved through the efforts of the doctors at UCLA Ronald Reagon Medical Center and the generosity of blood donors. Although privacy laws usually makes these types of meetings difficult, on January 31, 2014, Jennifer Calderon and her son had the wonderful chance to meet the seven blood donors who helped to save her life.
