The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) ranked UCLA #2 amongst the best public American universities.
Published annually, the CWUR is the largest and most comprehensive academic ranking of world universities. Schools are ranked based on a methodology involving eight criteria, including the quality of education, quality of faculty and alumni employment.

The University of California system is a public-university powerhouse, according to a new list from the Center for World University Rankings.
Of the top 10 best public universities in the country, the UC system contributes four to the list. America’s top public university on CWUR’s list — the University of California at Berkeley — ranked seventh overall globally.
CWUR uses eight indicators to determine its rankings, including quality of education, alumni employment, and influence.
Top ten public universities in the United States:
No. 1 — University of California at Berkeley
No. 2 — University of California at Los Angeles
No. 3 — University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
No. 4 — University of California at San Diego
No. 5 — University of Wisconsin at Madison
No. 6 — University of California at San Francisco
No. 7 — University of Texas at Austin
No. 8 — University of Washington at Seattle
No. 9 — University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign
No. 10 — University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
