Professor Heather Maynard has been elected a 2017 Polymeric Materials Science and Engineering (PMSE) Fellow of the American Chemical Society (ACS).

Maynard’s election reflects the recognition of the many impactful contributions she has made to the field of polymer science and engineering, specifically “for outstanding contributions to the synthesis of bio hybrid polymeric materials and their applications in medicine and biotechnology”.

The PMSE Fellow Program was started in 2000 to honor PMSE members for scientific and technological contributions to polymer material science and engineering. To date, 90 fellows have been inducted, with three new members for 2017.

Maynard will be inducted at the San Francisco ACS National meeting during the PMSE/Poly Awards Reception on Wednesday night, April 5, 2017.
