Dr. Eric Scerri recently performed with Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters (American blues band) for a special event titled, “Elements of the Blues,” held in Salisbury, Massachusetts.

The unusual pairing of Eric Scerri (Author, chemist, UCLA Lecturer, and philosopher of science specializing in the history and philosophy of the periodic table) and W.C. Handy Blues Award Winner Ronnie Earl (Former Associate Professor of Guitar at the Berklee College of Music) was the brainchild of Donna Horvath, Earl’s wife and a chemistry teacher at the North Middlesex Regional High School.  Horvath learned about Scerri and his passion as a blues guitarist after reading his June 2013 Scientific American article, “Cracks in the Period Table.”
