Professor Joseph Loo has been chosen for the 2021 EAS Award for Outstanding Achievements in Mass Spectrometry.
The EAS Award for Outstanding Achievements in Mass Spectrometry session, honoring Loo, will be held this November at the Crowne Plaza Princeton Conference Center in Plainsboro, New Jersey, Nov 15-17, 2021.
An expert in the mass spectrometry characterization of proteins, protein complexes, and their post-translational modifications, Loo is a faculty member in the UCLA departments of Chemistry & Biochemistry and Biological Chemistry in the David Geffen School of Medicine. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry, published jointly by the American Chemical Society and the American Society for Mass Spectrometry. According to the awards announcement, each year the Eastern Analytical Symposium honors Analytical Chemists who have distinguished career achievements. The recipients of these awards advanced these fields by superior work in developing theory, techniques or instrumentation. At the 2021 Symposium scientists in six areas of endeavor, will be presented awards.
