The department is seeking outstanding candidates for tenure–track or tenured faculty positions at the level of Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor. 

We welcome candidates whose experience in teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence. The successful applicants will be expected to develop strong and creative research programs and to contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Ph.D. required. 

All candidates who fit the UCLA Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry’s mission, especially those working in the following areas, are encouraged to apply.

BIOINORGANIC CHEMISTRY
We are interested in candidates who would build a research program at the interface of biochemistry and inorganic chemistry, in addition to candidates who wish to examine the role of metals in biology.

MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY
We seek to fill the inaugural Alice and Michael Jung Chair in Medicinal Chemistry. Applicants in this area at the rank of Associate or Full Professor with expertise in synthetic chemistry are encouraged to apply.

THEORETICAL PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY
We are interested in junior and senior candidates who would build an internationally recognized research program at the frontier of the theoretical methods and/or applications, and able to teach physical chemistry courses.

We will begin reviewing materials and applications on October 15, 2020.
