Professor & Vice Chair, Neil Garg, was one of the 18 speakers to participate in TEDxUCLA at the UCLA campus on Saturday, May 30th.  The TEDxUCLA conference, themed “Beyond the Box”, was attended by 600 people and was streamed live to a second audience of 400. The talks will be available on in a few weeks.
Professor Garg spoke about overcoming the negative perceptions students typically associate with organic chemistry. His talk featured a live demonstration with his graduate students Jesus Moreno and Joyann Barber, a discussion of his BACON at UCLA tutorials, and organic chemistry music videos made by his students.
