Dr. Qi Qian

Postdoctoral fellow Dr. Qi Qian (Duan group) has been selected for a prestigious 2023 MRS Postdoctoral Award “for pioneering research in developing and understanding van der Waals heterostructures and superlattices.”

The MRS Postdoctoral Award recognizes postdoctoral scholars who are showing exceptional promise that may include, for example, excellence in scientific research, leadership, advocacy, outreach, or teaching, during their postdoc assignment. It consists of an engraved trophy and a cash prize of $2,000.

As a Postdoctoral Award recipient, Qian presented a flash talk presentation during 2023 MRS Spring Meeting, San Francisco, on April 12, 2023.

Qian joined Professor Xiangfeng Duan’s group in 2018 as a postdoctoral fellow after receiving her Ph.D. in condensed matter physics at Purdue University.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Physics from Jilin University.  Her research interest includes quantum materials engineering, nanoscale devices development and low temperature quantum transport investigation. She has also received the nomination of 2022 Chancellor’s Award for Postdoctoral Research at UCLA, 2018 the Lark-Horovitz Prize in Physics at Purdue University, 2018 Lijuan Wang Memorial Award at Purdue University.

The Materials Research Society is a non-profit, professional organization for materials researchers, scientists and engineers.
