On Saturday, June 14, 2025, 37 of our students received Ph.D. degrees, 21 students received Master of Applied Chemical Sciences degrees, six Departmental Scholars received Master of Science degrees, and 295 undergraduate students received bachelor’s degrees. Congratulations to the Class of 2025!
Also hooded at the ceremony was Dr. Thomas Scott Griffin, who earned his Ph.D. in Natural Products Chemistry from UCLA in 1970. He was accompanied by his grandson, who also graduated over the weekend with a master’s degree in physics from UCLA.
At the ceremony, Dean of Physical Sciences Miguel García-Garibay presented the 2025 UCLA Chemistry & Biochemistry Alumni Award to Dr. Jeffrey Edward Miller ’87, Founder and CEO of Invivoscribe, a global leader in molecular diagnostics and precision medicine. Following this, Dr. Miller delivered an inspiring Commencement Address.
