Biography

Anderson graduated from the College of Chemistry at the University of California Berkeley in 2021, with a B.S. in chemistry, a concentration in computational chemistry, and a minor in chemistry education through the Cal Teach program. As an undergraduate, Anderson conducted research about urban ozone formation under the guidance of Professor Ron Cohen and Professor Hannah Kenagy. Anderson earned her Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2026 where she worked with Professor Joost de Gouw in the atmospheric, analytical, and environmental chemistry division. Her graduate research focused on understanding ozone formation from wildfire and urban emissions through the analysis of satellite observations, air quality forecast models, and ground-based measurements. In addition to her atmospheric chemistry research, Anderson is passionate about science communication and informal science education.

Research Interests

Anderson conducts postdoctoral research about the downwind air quality impacts of fires at the wildland urban interface in Professor Victoria Barber’s lab.
