Spinning Gold from Iron, Nickel and Cobalt Abstract: The use of earth abundant elements as catalysts to enable useful chemical transformations is an active area of modern organometallic chemistry. In this presentation, our group’s efforts towards implementing 1st-row metals in catalysis will be discussed with a focus on the areas of hydrosilylation and hydroboration of unsaturated substrates. In particular, preliminary data on a new concept in catalysis:Metalla-GAP (Group Assisted Purification) will be described.
