Abstract: Enzymes are exquisite catalysts for asymmetric synthesis, however, they are thought to be limited to reactivity patterns observed in nature. In this seminar, I will discuss my groups effort to use light to unlock new activation modes in biocatalysis toward the goal of accessing reactivity patterns previously unknown in nature that also address long-standing challenges is chemical synthesis.
