Undergraduate researchers David Dumas (Liu lab) and Jaybree Lopez (Loo Lab) explain their research and offer advice to new students in URC-Sciences Research Elevator Pitch videos.
David and Jaybree created the pitches as part of their participation in the 2020 Undergraduate Research Center-Sciences’ (URC-Sciences) Center for Academic & Research Excellence (CARE) Science, Engineering and Math (SEM) Summer Program. The CARE SEM Summer Program is a 10-week opportunity for UCLA undergraduates to undertake research with a UCLA faculty and receive professional development through workshops and seminars.
“Everyone in the program did such a good job that I invited them to create videos to share,” explained Dr. Janet M. Goins, Assistant Director, Undergraduate Research Center - Sciences. “I especially wanted them to be welcoming to new students from different backgrounds, so I asked CARE SEM students to share about themselves too. I’m really proud of David and Jaybree.”
