Professors Anastassia Alexandrova and Margot Quinlan receive inaugural Undergraduate Research Week Faculty Mentor Awards.
As part of the UCLA Undergraduate Research Week held May 21-25, 2018, undergraduate student researchers who presented posters at the Research Poster Day were invited to nominate their mentor for a Faculty Mentor award to recognize the meaningful role their mentor has played in their undergraduate experience, research or career exploration, and the support they have received from their mentor for their professional goals. According to the call for nominations website, the award is meant to honor “the considerable dedication of faculty mentors who have served as effective and nurturing research mentors to undergraduate students.” Students were invited to nominate any faculty member who has supported their professional development through a trusting and respectful relationship.
