The UCLA Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Commencement Ceremony

You are cordially invited to attend The UCLA Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Commencement Ceremony to be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013. The reception starts at at 4:00 pm and the ceremony begins at 5:00 pm

RESERVATION:

RSVP is Required. Undergraduates, please make a reservation on the MyUCLA site.
Graduate candidates, please make a reservation also on the MyUCLA site, and contact Tom Cahoon about details involving Chemistry and Biochemistry Commencement Ceremony.

TICKETS

You must RSVP and reserve tickets for yourself and your guests on MyUCLA. Ticket ordering will take place April 30 to May 14. Ticket distribution will begin on May 21 through June 4 for the Chemistry and Biochemistry ceremony. First 4 tickets are free. Please note that those tickets are just for the departmental ceremony, and you must register separately for the graduate division hooding ceremony and the College of Letters and Science Commencement.

CHECK-IN

Check-In is mandatory for both graduate and undergraduate candidates on the day of the ceremony, or your name will not be called during the ceremony.

Please check in by 4:15 pm at the check-in desk in the Court of Sciences.

The ceremony will begin at 5:00 PM.

SEATING: Traditionally, graduates will be seated in a reserved section at the front of the audience. Guests of graduates may sit in any seats not marked reserved.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:

UNDERGRADUATE CANDIDATES: Fall 2012 and Winter 2013 degree recipients, Spring and Summer 2013 degree candidates, Fall 2013 with a "special inclusion", Faculty, Family, and Friends are cordially invited to attend. You MUST RSVP and reserve tickets for your guests on MyUCLA between APRIL 30TH and MAY 14TH so that we can ensure that adequate seating is available.

GRADUATE CANDIDATES: You can participate in the Chemistry/Biochemistry ceremony if you're planning on submitting your dissertation in Spring, Summer, or Fall 2013. The graduate office needs confirmation from your PI that you will be finished in summer or fall. Please contact graduate office.

OTHER UCLA COMMENCEMENT CEREMONIES

College of Letters and Science Commencement
June 14, 2013 in Pauley Pavilion
The College will host two identical Commencement ceremonies. Students may request tickets to either of the two ceremonies as long as space remains available. The ceremonies are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Each ceremony will include all Divisions of the College. All students in the International Institute will attend the ceremony at 7:00 p.m.

The 2013 Graduate Division Doctoral Hooding Ceremony
June 13, 2013 in Royce Hall
Note for Graduate Candidates: In order to participate in the College commencement or graduate division hooding ceremony, you must submit your dissertation by the June 3 deadline. However, you can participate in the Chemistry/Biochemistry ceremony if you're planning on submitting your dissertation in Spring, Summer, or Fall 2013. Please contact graduate office.
