MIC Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Laboratory

Our departmental nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) user facilities have the following spectrometers:

NMR Spectrometers for Liquid Samples

Solid State NMR Spectrometers
  • DSX300 Solid State
EPR Spectrometer
  • EMX

Further, Biostructural NMR laboratory has 4 spectrometers from 400 to 800 MHz.

The MIC Materials Characterization Lab

The Materials Characterization Lab offers thermal, optical, microscopic, electrical and magnetic characterization of materials and elemental analysis of surfaces via a wide range of instruments including light scattering spectrometers, several spectrophotometers; scanning probe microscopes (AFM/STM), a SQUID magnetometer, a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and an X-Ray Photoelectron Spectrometer (XPS.)

The MIC Mass Spectrometry & Proteomics Laboratory

The Mass Spectrometry & Proteomics Laboratory has the following:

  • Waters LCT Premier with ACQUITY LC and autosampler
  • Applied Biosystems-MDS Sciex 4000 Q Trap - Hybrid triple-quad linear ion trap analyzer with Autosampler, and a Turbo-V source equipped with ESI and APCI sources
  • Applied Biosystems Q-STAR Elite Quad-TOF Hybrid LC/MS/MS System
  • Applied Biosystems Voyager-DE-STR MALDI-TOF
  • Thermo Finnigan LCQ Deca Ion Trap MS with Autosampler and PDA
  • Agilent 6890-5975 GC-MS with Autosampler
  • Bruker 15T
