Introduction

Dear Prospective Applicant:

We are pleased that you are interested in graduate work in Chemistry UCLA.

The Chemistry application deadline is December 15.

The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) application deadline is December 5th.

How to Apply to the Ph.D. Program

Step 1:

Complete the UCLA Graduate Application

The Application Fee is $80 for U.S. citizens and Permanent Residents.

Please upload and/or input the following to the UCLA Graduate Application

  • Statement of Purpose
  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
    • Input the name and email address of each recommender. UCLA will send an automated email with instructions to your recommender. Your recommender will have the opportunity to complete the evaluation online and upload his/her letter.
    • Hard copies are still accepted. If you would like the evaluation form, please send an email to ChemGrad@chem.ucla.edu.

    Step 2:

    Submit all supplementary materials to the Graduate Office

    • Inorganic Chemistry - 0303
    • Physical Chemistry - 0306
  • Two (2) Official Transcripts
    • UCLA undergraduates may submit unoffical transcripts
